Connectivism and Social Learning in Practice

The resources provided this week I believe supported the theory. The "voice thread" resource is amazing and shows that we can learn from others no matter their location. In addition, the articles and videos provided information that supports and validates the resources. I feel I will refer to this week and try to implement the practices into my classroom setting.

  1. It is really neat that through using VoiceThreading technology we can instruct our students from a distance. Students can collaborate, ask questions, and enjoy guest speakers! It did not click until I read your post, but through VoiceThread, a teacher could possibly get guest speakers to voice their thoughts on an issue. How neat would it be for students to tune into a VoiceThread, ask questions, and be responded to by an expert or famous figure? It would be an experience created that students would remember for the rest of their lives!

  2. I agree that using a VoiceThread is an excellent way for students to work together without actually being together. This would really be helpful if a student is home/hospital bound due to a serious illness or injury. This would allow them to participate as long as they are able to.
